Day 6: Monday Chaos!
π️ Date: 13 Oct 2025
π Title: Monday Chaos!
Task Description
In my second week of internship, I continued working on the Fixed Deposit (FD) and Notice Deposit (ND) UI enhancement project. My supervisor had provided several comments and suggestions based on last week’s progress, so my main task was to review, refine, and amend the designs accordingly. The goal was to improve layout consistency, alignment, and overall visual clarity to ensure a more polished and user-friendly interface.
During the week, our team also held a weekly meeting to update one another on current tasks and project timelines. I was assigned to prepare slides and present my updates, which was my first time presenting during the internship. Although I felt nervous and uncertain at first, it turned out to be a valuable learning experience thanks to the constructive feedback I received from my supervisor and seniors.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the main challenges this week was understanding and applying my supervisor’s design feedback effectively. Some of the comments involved subtle visual refinements, such as adjusting spacing, and aligning elements with the design library standards. To resolve this, I carefully went through each comment, cross-checked the interface with reference files, and made revisions step by step to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Another challenge I faced was presenting my work confidently during the team meeting. As it was my first presentation, I struggled to explain certain design decisions clearly. Despite the nerves, I managed to deliver my part and gained helpful feedback for future presentations.
There was also an unexpected delay when the LRT broke down twice on my way to work, which caused me to arrive late. To make up for the time lost, I stayed back after office hours to complete my tasks and ensure that my amendments were submitted on time.
Key Learnings & Skills Gained
This week taught me the importance of precision and attention to detail in UI design. I learned how even small adjustments, like consistent spacing or cleaner alignment can significantly improve the overall interface quality. Going through my supervisor’s comments also helped me better understand how to interpret and implement design feedback effectively.
Preparing for my first team presentation gave me valuable experience in communicating design progress and presenting work in a professional setting. I also learned how to receive and respond to constructive criticism positively, which will help me grow as a designer. Through this process, I became more comfortable using the design library and applying consistent visual principles across different components.
