Day 34: First Big Presentation Jitters & Cash ISA Mockups
π️ Date: 20 Nov 2025
π Title: First Big Presentation Jitters & Cash ISA Mockups
Task Description
Today was my thirty-fourth day of internship. I spent most of the day preparing for a meeting with the UK-side Business User, Joanna, where I would walk through the Cash ISA Transfer-In mockup. As part of the preparation, I also quickly completed the pre-login and post-login flows for the web version to ensure the overall journey was clear and presentable.
At 5 PM, the meeting started, and I was responsible for presenting the mockups. This was my first formal meeting where I had to present my work, and there were other IT team members as well as my supervisor (SV) in attendance.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the main challenges was managing my jitters during the presentation cause I want to do well and be able to articulate my thoughts clearly with the right words. I reminded myself that this was a learning opportunity and gave myself grace for it being my first formal presentation. When questions came up that I could not fully answer, my SV kindly stepped in to support and clarify, which helped ease the pressure.
Key Learnings & Skills Gained
I learned how important preparation is when presenting to business users, especially those from different regions. I also gained experience in presenting mockups confidently, explaining user flows, and handling questions in a professional setting. Additionally, I learned that it’s okay not to have all the answers, as long as I’m willing to learn and seek help when needed.
Reflection & Next Steps
Day 34 was a meaningful step in building my confidence in stakeholder communication and presentations. Although I felt nervous, the experience showed me that growth comes from stepping out of my comfort zone. Moving forward, I aim to improve my presentation skills, deepen my understanding of the Cash ISA Transfer-In process, and be better prepared to handle questions independently in future meetings.
