Day 37: Access Issues, Late Meetings & Unexpected Adjustments

πŸ—“️ Date: 25 Nov 2025

πŸ“Œ Title: Monday Blues & Getting Back into the Flow

Task Description

Today was my thirty-seventh day of internship. I received an email from Joanna regarding the Cash ISA Transfer-In mockups, as she had trouble viewing them through the links I shared and asked for login details. Unfortunately, I couldn’t provide any credentials, as she would need to access the mockups using her own account.

Another ongoing struggle I faced was not being able to access any SharePoint sites because my email is not whitelisted. This has been quite a hassle, as I’ve had to rely on my SV’s email whenever SharePoint access was needed. With my SV’s help, I filed an OST today to formally request permission to access iFAST SharePoint sites.

A piece of surprising news came up when I found out that the UK-side Cash ISA team had scheduled a meeting for tomorrow at 7:30 PM to go through the mockups again. The meeting was unplanned and outside of normal working hours. Thankfully, my SV was very understanding and allowed me to bring the MacBook home tomorrow and leave work at 5 PM so I can attend the meeting from home.

Challenges & Solutions

The main challenges today were access limitations and unexpected schedule changes. Not having proper SharePoint access slowed down my work, but filing an OST was a necessary step toward a long-term solution. The sudden after-hours meeting was also stressful, but having my SV’s support and flexibility helped me manage the situation.

Key Learnings & Skills Gained

I learned more about access control and security practices, especially around system logins and document sharing. I also gained experience in handling unplanned changes professionally and communicating limitations clearly to business users.

Reflection & Next Steps

I'll prepare myself for tomorrow's evening meeting and get ample rest to ensure I survive the commuting back home and ending work late.
