Day 40: 2 Months in iFAST! and more OT!

🗓️ Date: 28 Nov 2025

📌 Title: 2 Months in iFAST! and more OT!

Task Description

Today was my fortieth day of internship, and it was another long and exhausting day. I had yet another meeting scheduled with the Cash ISA team at 7 PM to align with UK time. While I was on my way home, the meeting time was suddenly moved earlier to 6:30 PM. Thankfully, my SV had already allowed me to leave at 5 PM. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have made it back in time for the meeting.

During the meeting, it became clear that the Business User and the big boss had different views on the Cash ISA Transfer-In requirements. Initially, the flow was designed to accept only full transfers, but the big boss insisted on allowing partial transfers as well. This led to major requirement changes, which directly impact the logic and require significant updates to the mockups.

Challenges & Solutions

The main challenges today were fatigue from repeated late meetings and dealing with sudden, large-scale changes in requirements. Aligning across time zones added pressure, and the conflicting viewpoints between stakeholders made the scope of work expand unexpectedly. At this stage, the best way to handle it was to listen carefully, take clear notes, and prepare for another round of revisions.

Key Learnings & Skills Gained

I learned how easily project scope can change when key stakeholders are not fully aligned, and how important flexibility is in such situations. I also gained more exposure to real-world cross-time-zone collaboration and managing last-minute changes under pressure.

Reflection & Next Steps

Day 40 honestly left me feeling very drained. However, it also showed me how complex and demanding real work project can be, especially when requirements are not solid.
