Day 42: Meetings, meetings, meetings.

📌 Title: Meetings, meetings, meetings.

Task Description

Day 42 was mainly focused on making amendments for iFAST Pay Backoffice project, specifically around Settlement module, like moving Fee Charges submodule from E-payment module to the MSB module. While some work was in progress, a portion of the changes still pending confirmation.

In the morning, my SV invited me to join a 9:30am meeting with the Ops CS team to walk through the account opening module. Since I had previously helped him with mockups for this module, he wanted me involved in the discussion. 

We also had our weekly team meeting today. Ahead of it, I consolidated what I worked on over the past week and added the updates into the presentation slides.

Challenges & Solutions

A key challenge was dealing with changes that were still pending confirmation, which made it difficult to fully close off certain tasks. Besides back to back meetings also took up time for me to work on mockups. To manage this, I focused on progressing what was already clear while flagging open items early, so adjustments could be made quickly once confirmation came through.

Key Learnings & Skills Gained

I gained more exposure to cross-team collaboration, especially how ops cs perspectives influence system and UI design. I also realise the importance of prioritisation when work is overwhelming.

Reflection & Next Steps

Day 42 highlighted the importance of alignment and visibility in ongoing projects. Being involved in both mockup creation and stakeholder discussions helped me better connect design decisions with real operational needs.

Day 6: Monday Chaos!

🗓️  Date:  13  Oct 2025 📌 Title:  Monday Chaos! Task Description In my second week of internship, I continued working on the  Fixed Deposit (FD)  and  Notice Deposit (ND)  UI enhancement project. My supervisor had provided several  comments and suggestions  based on last week’s progress, so my main task was to  review, refine, and amend the designs accordingly . The goal was to improve layout consistency, alignment, and overall visual clarity to ensure a more polished and user-friendly interface. Day 41: Brainstorming and Braincracking

  🗓️  Date:  29 Nov  2025 📌 Title:  Brainstorming and Braincracking Task Description I started the day by discussing the recent Cash ISA meeting outcomes with another IT team member who was on leave, updating him on the latest requirement changes. Following that, I brainstormed together with him and my SV on the new flow for Cash ISA Transfer-In, now that partial transfers also need to be supported. Initially, I was expecting Joanna to send over the updated flow for this change, but since it hadn’t come through, we decided not to wait and risk delaying the project timeline. Instead, we proactively moved forward by coming up with a proposed new flow ourselves. Given the uncertainty, we chose to create a wireframe in FigJam rather than jumping straight into high-fidelity mockups, as we wanted to avoid double work if changes were still needed.
