Day 43: Multiple Projects, One Very Busy Brain

 πŸ—“️ Date: 3 Dec 2025

πŸ“Œ Title: Multiple Projects, One Very Busy Brain

Task Description

Day 43 required quite a bit of context switching across projects. Earlier on, my SV had asked me to work on the MY Stock IPO mobile app version, but since it wasn’t high priority at the time, I had been focusing on other projects. Today, the priority shifted as we needed to review the mockups with Business Users next Thursday, so I started actively working on it.

The task mainly involved converting the existing web version flow into a mobile experience. Before jumping into design, I had to first understand the fundamentals—what an IPO is, how the process works, the end-to-end user flow on web, and the underlying logic. There were already some mobile screens in the design file, so my role was to update the content to align with the web version and create additional screens that had not yet been designed.

At the same time, I was also waiting for feedback from the Cash ISA project, which made planning slightly fragmented.

In the afternoon, feedback finally came in from the Business User for Cash ISA. He requested a rearrangement of screens and a different overall flow. Following that, I had another call with my SV to walk through the feedback and rethink the structure. I then created a new proposed flow in FigJam, shared it with my SV for review, and also discussed it with the IT team to make sure the revised flow was technically feasible and logical.

Challenges & Solutions

The main challenge was juggling two mentally heavy tasks at once, learning a completely new domain (IPO) while reacting quickly to major flow changes in another project. To manage this, I broke tasks into smaller chunks. Learning and mapping out the IPO flow first before touching designs, and quickly iterate on the Cash ISA flow without committing to high-fidelity changes too early.

Key Learnings & Skills Gained

I gained foundational knowledge about IPO processes and how to translate complex financial flows from web to mobile. I also strengthened my ability to adapt quickly to late-stage feedback, rethinking user journeys while aligning business, design, and technical perspectives.

Reflection & Next Steps

Day 43 reinforced how unpredictable priorities can be and how important flexibility is in real project work. Moving forward, I’ll continue refining the MY Stock IPO mobile mockups in preparation for the BU walkthrough, while iterating on the revised Cash ISA flow once alignment is confirmed.
