Task Description

Day 47 was another long one. I had a 7 PM meeting scheduled with the big bosses for the Cash ISA project, and knowing I wouldn’t be able to make it home in time, I decided to stay back in the office to attend the meeting.

During the day, I continued working on Back Office amendments, specifically on the Account Pending Approval page, where I added the necessary modals to support the updated flow. While working on this, I ran into a particularly frustrating issue, after clicking a certain button, the state wouldn’t revert to normal even though everything seemed to be set up correctly. Despite checking and rechecking, I couldn’t immediately identify the root cause, which was mentally draining.

At around 4:30 PM, I joined a meeting with the Settlement team to walk through the Settlement module once again, clarifying flows and aligning on expectations.

By the end of the day, I managed to complete the MY Stock IPO project and handed it over to my SV for review.

Challenges & Solutions

The main challenges were fatigue from extended working hours and the frustration of debugging a design interaction issue that didn’t behave as expected. While I couldn’t resolve the button issue immediately, stepping away and flagging it for later review helped prevent further burnout. Staying in the office for the evening meeting also helped me remain focused and prepared.

Key Learnings & Skills Gained

I reinforced the importance of managing time and energy during long days, as well as patience when dealing with stubborn interaction problems. Repeated walkthroughs with the Settlement team also deepened my understanding of backend-related flows and dependencies.

Reflection & Next Steps

Day 47 was a reminder that progress often comes with discomfort and long hours. Despite the challenges, completing the IPO project and staying engaged across multiple discussions felt like meaningful progress. Next, I’ll revisit the unresolved interaction issue with a fresh perspective and follow up on feedback from the big boss meeting.

Day 6: Monday Chaos!

🗓️  Date:  13  Oct 2025 📌 Title:  Monday Chaos! Task Description In my second week of internship, I continued working on the  Fixed Deposit (FD)  and  Notice Deposit (ND)  UI enhancement project. My supervisor had provided several  comments and suggestions  based on last week’s progress, so my main task was to  review, refine, and amend the designs accordingly . The goal was to improve layout consistency, alignment, and overall visual clarity to ensure a more polished and user-friendly interface. Day 41: Brainstorming and Braincracking

  🗓️  Date:  29 Nov  2025 📌 Title:  Brainstorming and Braincracking Task Description I started the day by discussing the recent Cash ISA meeting outcomes with another IT team member who was on leave, updating him on the latest requirement changes. Following that, I brainstormed together with him and my SV on the new flow for Cash ISA Transfer-In, now that partial transfers also need to be supported. Initially, I was expecting Joanna to send over the updated flow for this change, but since it hadn’t come through, we decided not to wait and risk delaying the project timeline. Instead, we proactively moved forward by coming up with a proposed new flow ourselves. Given the uncertainty, we chose to create a wireframe in FigJam rather than jumping straight into high-fidelity mockups, as we wanted to avoid double work if changes were still needed.
