Day 50: Long Meeting, Graphic Update

π Title: Long Meeting, Graphic Update
Task Description
Day 50 was a mix of deep discussion and detailed design work.
In the morning, I had a meeting with the Settlement team at 10 AM, picking up where we left off a few days ago. The discussion ran until 1 PM, making it a long session but necessary to align on the remaining settlement module details.
After the meeting, I continued working on the Cash ISA project, focusing on reviewing and applying comments from the Business User on the mockup. Most of the feedback for the web version was about graphics, particularly improving the phone screen visuals with the latest UI and adding the Transfer In banner.
To complete this, I reached out to a colleague who previously worked on the Cash ISA project to retrieve the graphic assets to update them so the mockups can reflect the most recent design.
My SV also advised me on icon formats, recommending we use SVG. This is because SVGs are vector-based, meaning they remain sharp at any size and have smaller file sizes, which improves performance and clarity.
Challenges & Solutions
The main challenge was managing a long meeting and then switching back into design mode, especially when the feedback required updated assets rather than simple text changes. To solve this, I focused on identifying what needed updating and quickly reached out to the right colleague to get the assets.
Key Learnings & Skills Gained
I learned more about the importance of graphic consistency in mockups and the value of using SVG icons for cleaner, more scalable visuals. I also practiced shifting gears from long alignment meetings back into detailed design work.
