Day 52: More demands, More presentations

 πŸ—“️ Date: 16 Dec 2025

πŸ“Œ Title: More demands, More presentations

Task Description

Today, the Business User requested adding bank logos to the list of banks in the Cash ISA transfer-in flow. The list includes 90+ banks, and it’s constantly updating, which makes maintaining logos a heavy and ongoing effort. Initially, we had decided to keep the list text-only to avoid the risk of outdated logos and excessive workload.

To address the request, my SV helped me reply to the Business User’s comment by asking if she was sure about adding logos, and whether the team was prepared for the maintenance and updates required.

At 10 AM, we had a face-to-face presentation meeting for the MY IPO project. Since I rarely get to do F2F presentations, I was a bit nervous, but overall I felt fairly calm. My SV supported me during the session and helped answer most of the questions asked by the stakeholders.

Challenges & Solutions

The main challenge was managing the balance between UI desirability and practicality. Adding logos may look better visually, but it introduces significant maintenance challenges and risks of outdated branding. We addressed this by prompting the BU to confirm the decision and consider the long-term implications.

The other challenge was presenting in a face-to-face setting, which is more intense than virtual meetings. Having my SV support the presentation helped me stay confident and focused.

Key Learnings & Skills Gained

I learned how to handle stakeholder requests that are not practical and how to respond professionally while keeping the project’s long-term sustainability in mind. I also gained more experience with in-person presentations and how to manage nerves in a live setting.

Reflection & Next Steps

Day 52 was a reminder that design decisions are not only about visuals, but also about maintenance and feasibility. Moving forward, we’ll wait for the BU’s confirmation regarding the logos and continue refining the IPO project based on feedback from the face-to-face session.
