Day 79: UAT = Spot the Difference game
🗓️ Date: 27 Jan 2026
📌 Title: UAT = Spot the Difference game
Task Description
I continued working on iFAST Pay UAT and identified additional UI-related issues. These included an incorrect colour theme being applied to the drawers in the Cards module, which should have been in light mode. I also noticed that the font used in the UAT version did not match the mockup. I informed my supervisor about these issues for further action.
Challenges & Solutions
There were no major challenges today. I made an effort to keep myself busy, as I dislike being idle and wasting time. Whenever I ran out of tasks, I worked on updating my daily logbook, which is what I am doing now.
Key Learnings & Skills Gained
I go through every screen and each clickable feature in the app to ensure that nothing is missed. Through this process, I learned how to conduct UAT in a more systematic manner.
First, I skim through the entire page to review the content, as it is usually correct and free from spelling or typographical errors. Next, I check the padding, alignment, and spacing, which are often easier to spot due to my attention to detail. Lastly, I review smaller or underlying features such as tooltips, pop-ups, icons, and animations.
Reflection & Next Steps
I realised that the process of creating a mockup and handing it over to the IT team for development is not the complete workflow. The work does not end there. It is equally important for the UI/UX designer to participate in the testing phase alongside the rest of the team.
Different people notice different issues because everyone has different perspectives, which is why having multiple testers is essential. Nonetheless, the designer understands the product design best, as it originates from them. Identifying mistakes, making refinements and improvements, and discussing findings with the team are all part of the journey of creating a well-designed and high-quality product.
